Besides the side events, a number of other high-level events also took place within and outside the United Nations venue organized by governments or stakeholders and revolving around the themes of sustainable urban development.

Programmes and projects, as well as global and regional networks of partners took the opportunity to meet and advance in the debate on the New Urban Agenda during PrepCom2.
