Yondela Tembakazi Silimela

Yondela Silimela is the Executive Director of the Development Planning Department in the City of Johannesburg. Prior to returning to the City in 2012, she worked with the Public Investment Corporation in the Property Investment Division. Her career spans in excess of 15 years in the local government, development policy and implementation environment, having previously worked on the National Urban Renewal Programme with the then National Department of Provincial and Local Government as well as the CSIR. Her particular interest is in the development and implementation of planning policy and regulatory instruments that ensure sustained and shared growth and development, harnessing the resources and abilities of the public, private sectors and civil society.
