Susana Rojas Williams

Susana Rojas Williams serves as the Director of International Shelter Initiatives at Habitat for Humanity International, where she provides technical and advisory support to sustainable housing and urban development programs around the world.  Susana is an urban planner and architect with extensive experience in the technical and policy aspects of urban planning, settlement planning, housing, land and infrastructure with a focus on pro-poor and people-centered approaches, especially in support of self-managed incremental housing processes.  She currently co-leads the CSO Urban Cluster of the GLTN.   Originally from Lima, Peru, Susana holds a Master in City Planning and International Development and a Master of Science in Architecture Studies from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  She studied at the National University of Engineering in Peru before transferring to the University of Kansas where she obtained a Professional Degree in Architecture. Before joining Habitat for Humanity, Susana worked with UN-HABITAT, the World Bank Institute, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Center for Reflective Community Practice and the Special Interest Group in Urban Settlement at MIT.  She has professional experience working in Latin America and the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, South and Central Asia and Africa.
