Ina Voelcker

In her role as technical coordinator at ILC-Brazil, Ina undertakes educational, research and policy initiatives in the area of active ageing and age-friendly cities. Among others, she undertakes research, coordinates projects and delivers presentations.
Prior to joining ILC-Brazil, Ina was a Global Ageing Officer at HelpAge International in London. During this time Ina was a core member of the team responsible for the production of the UNFPA/HelpAge report, entitled ‘Ageing in the Twenty-First Century: A Celebration and A Challenge’. During her studies, she gained policy experience working as a WHO intern with Alexandre Kalache and Louise Plouffe on the WHO Age-friendly Cities initiative. She acquired practical exposure to issues facing older persons in community and long-term care settings in different cultural contexts, including Brazil.
Ina graduated as a gerontologist from the University of Vechta in Germany and has a Masters degree in Public Policy and Ageing from King’s College London.
