The book “Por una autonomía del habitar” (forthcoming in Pepita de Calabaza Editores, Logroño/ Spain 2016) translates crucial writings by Turner into Spanish for the first time and updates them through three key articles by the editors Kathrin Golda-Pongratz, Jose Luis Oyon and Volker Zimmermann and a preface by John FC Turner. A rediscovered uncensored version of the documentary “A roof of my own” (UNTV 1964) will be screened and its follow-up presented to the public, which portrays the development and patterns of community building in two self-build-neighbourhoods in Lima/ Peru.
