Metropolitan Areas in the New Urban Agenda

To address the growing process of metropolization around the world, the Montréal Thematic Meeting on Metropolitan Areas aimed to recognize the role of metropolitan areas in achieving global sustainable urban development goals.
The Communauté métropolitaine de Montréal has drafted a discussion paper to initiate dialogue between the representatives of Member States, metropolitan institutions, municipalities and civil society with a view to adopting the Montreal Declaration on metropolitan areas.
