Egypt Allocates 25% of Real Estate Development for Slums

Egypt has allocated 25 percent of real estate projects for slums, and a large part of subsidized social housing will also be dedicated to residents of slums, said Minister of Urban Development Laila Iskandar Sunday.
“About 40-50 percent of Egyptian live in unplanned neighborhoods; some in historic and investment areas, some in rural areas and others in really poor, marginalized areas that lack [basic] facilities,” added Iskandar at Egypt Urban Forum (EUF.)
