Cities Can Lead on Climate Action Ahead of 2020 Pledges

National governments from around the world are currently preparing to head to Paris in November for the 21st Conference of the Parties (COP 21) to the U. N. Framework Convention on Climate Change. This is the biggest climate conference of our generation, and it takes place with the explicit goal of limiting global warming to less than 2 degrees Celsius — the cut-off beyond which scientists predict catastrophic impacts.
