Rubbina Karruna
Cities Adviser UK Department For International Development United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern IrelandRubbina Karruna is a Cities Adviser at the Department for International Development (DFID) where she leads DFID’s policy and international engagement on urban economic development. Previously at DFID she was a Research Adviser, designing and managing research programmes across the international development agenda. Prior to this Rubbina worked as an Associate Economist and Senior Policy Adviser at the UK Department for Culture Media and Sport where she worked on various government initiatives on the Olympics, creative industries and arts education.
Rubbina studied Urban Economic Development in the UK at UCL’s Development Planning Unit. Outside of her day job, Rubbina is currently the Chair of a UK based charity - Architecture sans Fronitere-UK - which focuses on building the capability of all stakeholders to be part of the urbanisation process, supporting increased participation and recognition of all citizens within political, economic and social systems and institutions to ensure a more just urban environment for all.
