Coordinator GROOTS Jamaica JamaicaIn 38 years of existence SISTREN, a founding member and with management/ staff has consistently used the creative arts as a tool of analysis and action to interrogate and implement its work nationally and internationally. Have has used approaches including workshops, film, the performing and visual arts, as well as psychosocial rehabilitation. Lana Finikin has lead Sistren for the last twenty years by management oversight of Sistren overall programmes on gender base violence, crime prevention, Hiv-Aids ensure timely reporting compliance to funders, production of reports on all project deliverables, developing a monitoring and evaluation system. Developed project proposal addressing gender justices’ issues, HIV-Aids and capacity building for the organization, Work with Board of Directors and Project Manager, staff and other stakeholders, to implement strategies to improve quality of programming and organizational capacity. • Been with the collective since its inception in 1977. Worked in the collective in the capacity of Teacher/Actress, Treasurer/Accountant, Stage Manager and Coordinator and 2004 was given the post of Executive Director where she manages the organization. She has travelled extensively with the collective on tours, as performer and Tour Manager. Through the organization she has done training workshops, performances and workshops local, regional and International. This kind of work requires her presences in the Caribbean, United States, Canada, United Kingdom and other parts of the world.
