Anne-Hélène Prieur-Richard
Global Hub Director Future Earth FranceAnne-Hélène Prieur-Richard is Global Hub Director for the Future Earth Montreal hub, and Affiliate Associate Professor at Concordia University in Canada. Future Earth is the international research programme providing the knowledge and support to accelerate transformations to a sustainable world. She oversees the activities of the Future Earth Montreal hub, focusing on Synthesis and Foresight, general coordination (including with regional centres and national committees), and science-policy interfaces, as well as the overall activities of Future Earth as part of the Distributed Secretariat Executive Team. Anne-Hélène Prieur-Richard holds a Masters Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Lyon, France. She earned her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Montpellier, France. Her field of research was on biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and invasive species. She held some research positions in this field in UK and France, and also has teaching experience at the Universities of Paris and Montpellier. In 2001, she joined DIVERSITAS, the international programme of biodiversity science, as a Science Officer to assist the Executive Director with starting and launching the second phase of this international programme. In 2006 she was promoted to Deputy Director and in 2013 to Director of DIVERSITAS. Her role was to oversee all the research and science-policy activities of DIVERSITAS, and the transition of DIVERSITAS towards Future Earth.
