Women-Friendly City Challenge: Make your city the most women-friendly in the world

- Huairou Commission (HC) Moderates; Seoul Foundation Of Women And Family (SFWF) Will Have Panelists And Bring In Seoul Local Authorities.
The event will feature a discussion about the work undertaken by Vancouver and Seoul to make their cities work for women and girls. From Vancouver, Women Transforming Cities International Society will present recommendations from its 30+ monthly Cafes and Urban Thinkers Campus, Hot Pink Paper Municipal Campaign, and “Advancing Equity and Inclusion: A Guide for Municipalities.” Seoul Foundation of Women and Family will present its partnership with the Seoul municipal government to implement urban safety policies such as the safety escort service, safety manual, and gender-sensitive training. The dialogue will develop the framework for “women- friendliest cities” and strategies for operationalizing these
criteria. The event will additionally kick off the Women-Friendly City Challenge, in which cities around the world will compete for recognition of successful intersectional approaches and gender- responsive best practices in the context of sustainable urbanization.
