With the simultaneity of the ageing of the population and the fast urbanization, it is necessary to rethink the different paradigms, since the urban equipments, the mobility, the housing and several others themes are to be revised, given the needs of a new demographic structure that already exists in Europe and in Japan, and that is quickly changing in developing countries. This will require medium and long-term planning, with allocation of financial and technological resources that are not always available, which may even create migratory pressures.
