The New Urban Agenda commits to create and maintain well-connected and well-distributed networks of open, multipurpose, safe, inclusive, accessible, green and quality public spaces to promoting attractive and liveable cities, human settlements and urban landscapes.

In addition, it recognises culture as a priority component of urban plans and strategies, safeguarding a diverse range of tangible and intangible urban heritage and landscape.
