By 2050 almost 70% of global population will live in urban areas. The success of the SDGs rests in our ability to transform livelihoods in our cities. Representing the largest generation of young people the world has ever seen, today’s youth will play a critical role in this transformation by making SDGs a priority in their own cities and neighbourhoods.

At Habitat III, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth will launch the Local Pathways Fellowship, an initiative to provide young people with the tools, resources and a global platform they need to mobilise youth and civil society support towards the New Urban Agenda, secure local governments’ commitment to prioritise the SDGs, and nurture a group of young ambassadors with the awareness of sustainable development and city-to-city cooperation.

The presentation will not only showcase the Fellowship, but also the SDG Cities Guide (https://sdgcities.guide) and the SDG Academy's MOOC on Sustainable Cities (https://courses.sdgacademy.org/learn/sustainable-cities-november-2016). It aims at providing audience practical steps in "getting started" with the New Urban Agenda and the SDGs.
